From X to Vinyl: Catching Up in the Gehlee Tunes Groove Lounge

It’s been a minute since my last Gehlee Tunes update! Today, I’m dusting off the blog to reflect on the wild ride so far, and what’s next for this little corner of the UNIS universe. Grab your headphones (and maybe a lava lamp) as we catch up, get real, and dream big together!

Back in the Blogosphere: Where Have I Been?

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted an update to the Gehlee Tunes blog. Once I jumped on X, what little time I had for content creation went straight to that platform. Honestly, I kinda miss working on deeper, more thoughtful content—so here we are. 😉

Having your own platform to express yourself and shape the space is totally worth it! Consider doing it!

Let’s Catch Up: Gehlee Tunes by the Numbers

Let’s make this a catch-up post and take stock of where we’re at. I started Gehlee Tunes in January 2025, and it launched in February 2025 (I think—details are a little hazy, haha). Since then, we’ve dropped 41 albums and 21 blog posts!

Gehlee Tunes is becoming a nice little catalog of music and ideas, like a funky 70s retro reading nook with a vinyl record player—a perfect break from doom scrolling social feeds.

Dreams, Shops, and Future Funk

Looking ahead, there’s room to add a shop element to the site for artists to sell unofficial merch. That’s not something I want to take on right now, considering how busy I am with business and future goals.

Since the start, I thought one day I might hand over Gehlee Tunes to Gehlee’s management team—maybe they could turn this into a little community for Gehlee to interact with fans (there’s a comments feature I haven’t activated), and sell her art with an e-commerce shop (another feature still waiting in the wings).

They may not want it, and that’s totally cool! I’m not offering it yet! 😆

Personal Wins and Gehlee’s Magic

Aside from technical achievements, there have been personal ones too that getting to know Gehlee through this website has brought. I was a casual fan of UNIS, but I built this site because Gehlee asked for Korean indie and I thought that was really unique. Plus, she seemed the most popular member, so I figured the site would get some traffic.

Turns out, I didn’t really promote the website and just kept building and building, haha! It was a lot of fun, but a lot of sweat equity too. It's just a nice little hobby. 🙂

On this journey, I’ve been learning a lot about Gehlee and how charming and unique she is—from her eccentric yet exquisite music taste (psychonaut extraordinaire), to her endless creativity and deep curiosity.

Big Ideas: From Blog Posts to Business Proposals

That leads to my next personal achievement after starting Gehlee Tunes.

Some of these blog posts led me to really think about the K-pop industry and how the overall experience can improve—how agencies can make better returns (which leads to more profits for idols), and be more engaging and delightful for fans. Since that time, I’ve put together a 150-page business proposal for a solution that I’m super excited about and think has great potential.

And I've got more projects on deck besides work, so... busy busy 🤷‍♂️

Personal Growth: Gehlee’s Positive Influence

Since starting Gehlee Tunes, I’ve also been spending more time in prayer and thinking about the kind of man I ultimately want to become. I’m exercising more, being more careful and considerate with my time and words, and generally going from strength to strength.

Gehlee has been a part of that journey for sure, being a positive influence on my life, and I owe her a great deal of gratitude for that.

A Filipino Dream: Inspired by Gehlee

I don’t know how much Gehlee represents Filipino values, but she seems like a great role model and I’m thinking of moving to the Philippines one day to be around more people like her. The Philippines does seem like the perfect place to make a home base.

That’s enough rambling from me for today!

Until next time! 👋
